What will you do with your SWA Ultimate commissions? Simply spend them? Or grow them? Here's how...
You will take a portion of your SWA earnings each month, and invest that amount in the stock market.
Relax... we are recommending Stock Investing (not stock trading).
In Stock Investing, you will set aside a certain amount of money each month (aim for 10% of your total monthly earnings) and buy low-priced stocks of solid companies, or companies with good long-term prospects.
Where can you get info about good companies to invest in?
You can ask your knowledgeable friends, you can even research online with the help of COL Financial (formerly known as CitisecOnline), or you can save time.
You can save time (just like us), by getting tips and info from the Truly Rich Club of Bo Sanchez.
Each month, Bo Sanchez emails which stocks to buy and which to sell.
The funds that you get when you sell you will then re-invest and buy other stocks. Yes, we're talking about attractively-priced stocks of good companies.
Then you keep on doing investing a certain amount each month to buy stocks and sell those when the stock price reaches a certain Target Price.
Keep this up for 10 years, and you can earn interest rates higher than what you can get in a bank.
For example, we started in May 2012 and opened an account with CitisecOnline for P25,000 (we saved P2,500 a month for 10 months... if Bo's kasambahays can save P2,500 a month for the stock market, then we should also be able to do this).
Next, we bought shares of stock, based on Bo's stocks update newsletter.
Then, we sold when Bo said it was time to sell.
NOTE: Bo Sanchez is not psychic. Sometimes, conditions change. Sometimes, we had to sell at a slight loss. We were able to recover, though.
Anyway, we started in May 2012 and in December 2012 the value of the Citiseconline account is around P27,800.
If we converted everything back to cash, it will be around P27,100.
In other words, that's around 8 percent over a 7-month period. Or about 13.7 percent per year.
If you had placed your P25,000 in the bank you'll have P25,250 after a year.
Keep in mind, though, that we should adopt a long-range view. Something like 10 years. We just used this 7-month example to show what can happen when the stock market goes up.
Of course, the stock market goes up and down. That's why you need to think long-term, so that you don't feel too bad during those times when the market is down.
ACTION ITEM: Grow part of your SWA Ultimate earnings by investing in the Philippine stock market.
